Meet Chris
Chris has a warm, understanding and professional approach. She provides a supportive environment for you to explore thoughts, feelings, behaviour, and experiences.. An important part of the process is teaching you strategies and skills to work through your challenges.
Chris is a Registered Counsellor with NZAC. She has trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, ACT, Person-Centred Therapy and Mindfulness. She has a Diploma in Counselling, Certificate in Clinical Trauma Treatment, and is a Mindfulness Facilitator.
Her experience includes working in a school setting with children and adolescents aged 7 - 18 years, and working with adults and youth with complex life issues as well as mental health challenges. Now working in private practice, Chris supports children, adolescents and adults with a range of issues. ( Click here for more information on issues I can help with).
Chris has been married to the long-suffering Jamie for 20 years, and they have one teenage son, one cat and one badly-behaved Golden Retriever. In previous years, the family has been involved with providing respite care for children in foster-care.
Prior to re-training as a counsellor Chris worked for 18 years in media and advertising. She still has a love of photography and design, but loves working with people more, and considers counselling her life purpose.
